How animals adapt to GrasslandsAnimal exposure to grasslands is a challenge that animals have to face and cope with. They have to face bad weather and have few places to hide and shelter from predators. In places like forests, animals have to be more agile that quick, whereas, animals in grasslands have to have speed to survive. Birds are a good example when they are resting. They rest in their nest in the tree or underground. Most grassland birds try to hide their eggs as much as possible.
Without many trees or rocks, grassland animals have evolved highly effectively at camouflaging. This allows them to hide in plain sights. Since many herbivores of large grasslands must evade the attention of medium-large predators, some species become social and form aggregations. By grazing all together, one species can warn another species about a predator. |
